Staff Project Manager - Medical Device - Lab Automation

We recruit for a confidential Medical Device client. Our client is a Global Player and has more than 80 years experience in the field of Lab Automation. Client's 60,000 associates serve customers in more than 125 countries and generated $16.5 billion of revenue in 2016. Client's systems, found in hospitals and other critical care settings around the world, produce information used by physicians to diagnose disease, make treatment decisions and monitor patients. Scientists use the life science research instruments to study complex biological problems including causes of disease and potential new therapies or drugs.

Staff Project Manager - Medical Device - Lab Automation

Manages major operations projects using fundamental project management process through the project life cycle. Responsible for the project implementation strategy, schedule development, opportunity and risk management, project communications, resource management, project cost and performance reporting. Leads, coordinates and/or facilitates cross functional teams to achieve project objectives in support of the company’s goals and annual operating plan. Monitors project and team performance and reports to management overall status and risks. This position will report to the Director, PMO Operations.

General Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage various projects within Operations through its project life cycle
- Ensure all initiatives achieve desired results / on-time and within budget
- Ensure plans are developed within the project to transition change successfully to “business as usual”
- Assesses and clears roadblocks for team -- effectively able to raise and resolve / mitigate any issues / risks and interdependencies across projects
- Continually assesses project plans as business evolves to determine required adjustments
- Structure and develop executive-ready presentations
- Prepare project charters and corresponding plans, lead project team meetings, direct and coordinate project activities
- Review project plans on a weekly basis, define context and limitations, monitor project deliverables and communicate to Steering Committee any issues that may impact team's delivery
- Lead and organize tasks to be carried out as part of analysis and implementation, and ensure they are completed in line with project timelines
- Work performance is reviewed and measured against project objectives
- Can handle complex and challenging assignments
- Is steeped in project management techniques and processes knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Goal and results oriented but with excellent teamwork skills
- Possesses excellent influencing and communication skills
- Comfortable communicating at all levels in the organization
- Is organized and structured in approach to the job, but with a degree of flexibility
- Willing and able to frequent travel

- Minimum 9 years previous work experience
- University degree or Post-secondary education
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage, timelines and budgets to ensure delivery of project objectives
- Previous experience in developing detailed project plans using project management tools and methodologies
- Strong planning and execution skills
- Superior analytical, problem solving and judgment skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate ideas and actions to those at all levels of the organization
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, challenging and constantly changing work environment
- Able to work in a Matrix environment
- Understanding of regulatory guidelines associated with medical device manufacturing
- Experience with large scale facility moves (equipment, process, validation)
