Product Manager - Medical Device - Lab Automation

We recruit for a confidential Medical Device client. Our client is a Global Player and has more than 80 years experience in the field of Lab Automation. Client's 60,000 associates serve customers in more than 125 countries and generated $16.5 billion of revenue in 2017. Client's systems, found in hospitals and other critical care settings around the world, produce information used by physicians to diagnose disease, make treatment decisions and monitor patients. Scientists use the life science research instruments to study complex biological problems including causes of disease and potential new therapies or drugs.

Product Manager - Medical Device - Lab Automation

The Product Manager is responsible for managing processes for the development, launch, and commercialization of hospital and commercial laboratory automation solutions. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the management of the AutoMate product family worldwide and ultimately responsible for maintaining the continued market share position of these products. This includes execution throughout the product lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, providing product positioning, training, education, pricing strategies, stock, part numbers, and overseeing limited distribution through launch. Responsible for ensuring that project timelines, budgets and internal and external customer satisfaction goals are met.

Essential Behaviors and Responsibilities:
- Starting ability to drive commercialization/launch teams, serving as leader and regional representative on project teams for global product launches globally;
- Ability to take complex technical concepts and translate the data into easy to understand and digestible information;
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams without formal authority through influence and relationships;
- Start to provide technical expertise, leadership and direction to business critical departments;
- Under support identify and analyze the possible impact of competitive/3rd party products and make recommendations as needed;
- Make formal presentations and conduct group discussions on products for a broad range of scientific, technical and customer audiences;
- Start to execute product training and demonstrations internally and externally;
- Establish oneself as a resource to the organization as the product & competitive expert;
- Drive/assist development of commercialization plans for existing and new products and manage day to day product activities;
- Ability to think strategically while ensuring that tactical and operational activities are accomplished successfully;
- Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.

Other responsibilities include:
- Help develop and review PR/Marcom materials such as collateral, press releases, and data sheets;
- Create solution and value based sales and marketing tools for product launches;
- Forecast product sales and work with other functional areas to establish production schedules;
- Start to establish and maintain competitive information by understanding market trends, beliefs, perceptions, behaviors, and scope as well as competitor actions, strengths, weaknesses and plans;
- Customer centric; understand the customers’ business, challenges and goals
- Good written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Good teamwork skills; demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others; strong team player;
- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities;
- Ability to view change as necessary and be proactive in finding solutions;
- Good understanding of IVD / FDA regulations regarding medical devices.

- Must have is at least a BS or BA degree;
- Minimum of 2+ year’s product management/global marketing/product launch and sales experience in laboratory automation or general IVD industry or similar business; additional 5 years work related
- experience in a different field such as development or customer support;
- Ability to travel up to 50% - domestic and international travel;
- Direct clinical laboratory experience a plus.
